To vote or not to vote????

During my yearlong deployment to Iraq I witnessed the locals being able to vote for their president for the first time.  During the elections they would stand in line for 6-7 hours and didn't mind waiting to be part of such a monumental occasion.  After the elections took place we would see hundreds of people come up to us show us their ink stained finger and thanking us for helping them take part in the election.
I think it is kind of odd they dipped the voters finger in ink to prevent the same person voting twice.  The terrorists picked up on it pretty quickly and started to target the locals who had ink stained fingers.  Since the Iraqi's are not known for their cleanliness you would still see those ink stained fingers for up to three weeks and wondered how many of these people were brutally tormented for doing something so normal to the American Society.
Voting is something that some Americans take lightly.  Personally I have too I voted the first time Bush was inducted and the second time I sat back I didn't want to be a part of that train wreck.  With my yearlong deployment I believe I earned my right to do either or I am tired of people saying "if you don't vote you cannot complain."  I think that is the stupidest thing I have heard someone say.  I can complain about anything and everything there is nothing that says Freedom of Speech unless you vote last time I checked anyway.
The two candidates really scare me.  On one hand you have McCain a former Prisoner of War for a president.  On the other hand there's Obama he wants to strip everyone's firearms away and give us a slingshot and as a gun owner I have a problem with that.  I am still very undecided if I even vote this year who I will vote for but I know if I hear one person tell me I cannot complain who gets in,  that person needs to go to Iraq for a year and see how I have earned the right to complain about anything and everything.
