The Dark Knight

I was very excited to see this movie.  I did not see it in the theatre because my wife did not seem too interested.  There was a lot of raves about this movie and I think Heath Ledger's death made this movie that much more of a hot topic.
This movie really did not do anything for me.  Although Ledger played a very disturbing depiction of the Joker it was not very exciting for me at all.  I do not remember the end of the movie because an hour and a half into it I was dozing off every 10 minutes or so.
I think the Batman character could have been a little more convincing.  I found myself laughing at his poor attempt of a "tough guy" voice.  He sounded like Jack Nicholson mixed with Marlon Brando in the Godfather.
I remember renting the original batman movie in anticipation of seeing this film.  I think the original is 200 times better than this.  Batman was better, and the Joker was a lot better as well.  Who knows maybe it has something to do with the 4-5 other batman movies in between but I think the more movies made the more boring it got.
The action and fight scenes were better but that has a lot to do with the technology advances.  The best part of the movie was the opening bank robbery scene.  I wish this movie would have been more than it was but it helped decide I do not need to see anymore batman movies.  I remember gaining all the knowledge I ever needed about batman from the early comic books then I will ever need.
I will have to give this a 5/10
oh yeah GO VIKINGS
